Our Health & Safety Commitment

Connect Install Limited recognises its responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to 2023. Those responsibilities extend to our direct employees, our contractors, and any person who could be affected by our work activity.

Our Managing Director has signed and published a Health and Safety General Policy Statement setting out Connect Install's commitments — to provide leadership and control of identifiable risks at every worksite, to actively manage and supervise health and safety in practice, to consult with our workforce on matters affecting their wellbeing, to ensure all employees and contractors are competent and appropriately trained, and to aim for continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

This is not a document that sits in a drawer. It is reviewed annually, communicated to every person in the business, and backed by the resource — financial and operational — required to make it effective.

Expert H&S Support Through Peninsula Ireland

Connect Install has retained Peninsula Ireland — one of Ireland and the UK's leading health, safety, and employment law consultancies — to provide competent technical advice and practical support in the management of health, safety, and wellbeing across our business. Peninsula is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 27001 by Bureau Veritas.

This partnership means our H&S frameworks, documentation, risk assessment processes, and training standards are developed and maintained with expert input — not produced in-house and left to go stale. It also means our team has direct access to professional H&S advice when site conditions, project complexity, or regulatory questions require it.

Connect Install has been awarded Peninsula's Excellence in Health and Safety accreditation in recognition of the standard of our H&S management and culture. That recognition reflects the level of commitment we bring to safety across the business — not just in our documentation but in how our teams operate on site every day.

How We Manage Health & Safety on Site

Connect Install works across a wide range of live commercial environments — occupied offices, trading retail units, healthcare settings, active construction sites, and public spaces. Managing safety in these environments requires more than following a checklist. It requires planning, competence, communication, and accountability.

Before any project begins, we consider pre-construction information, assess site-specific hazards and risks, and put appropriate controls in place. Our managers and supervisors are trained and accountable for health and safety performance within their areas. Site inductions are carried out for all workers on first engagement, covering site-specific rules, emergency procedures, and individual responsibilities under health and safety legislation.

We co-operate fully with clients, principal contractors, designers, and other parties when working on sites under the control of others — and we expect the same standard of co-operation when working in our own controlled environments. Safety is a shared responsibility, and we take both sides of that seriously.

Where we identify hazards, we assess the risk and take action to minimise or control it to an acceptable level. Where work involves substances, plant, equipment, or working at height, appropriate controls and safe systems of work are in place before the task begins. Incidents, near-misses, and concerns are reported and investigated, and corrective actions are implemented and documented.

Standards for Contractors and Workers

Everyone who works on behalf of Connect Install — whether directly employed, contracted, or engaged as a specialist — is required to meet our health and safety standards. These are set out in our dedicated Contractor and Worker handbooks, which cover the rules, responsibilities, and expectations that apply on all Connect Install projects and sites.

All contractors working with Connect Install are required to read, understand, and comply with the relevant handbook before commencing work. These documents are not optional or advisory — they define the minimum standard of conduct expected on every project we deliver.

Our Contractors Health and Safety Handbook 2026 sets out the health and safety requirements that apply to all contractors engaged by Connect Install, including risk assessment obligations, induction requirements, PPE standards, incident reporting procedures, and site-specific rules.
